34 Weeks and Happy New Year!

Thursday, December 31, 2009 - 34 Weeks 3 Days

I'm definitely getting huge, but that comes with the territory. It's not fun, because now, I can't sleep through the night. I constantly wake up to go to the bathroom. I also get very uncomfortable due to my hands and arms getting numb, my back hurting, and a pinched nerve in my shoulder blade. Up until recently, I was feeling really good, but I can't really say that anymore. I feel bad complaining, wait, let me take that back...no I don't. I should be allowed to complain. I gained a good 23 pounds, I'm uncomfortable, and I still have to give birth.

On a lighter, happier note, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Hopefully, this year will be a better year when it comes to the economy. I hope everyone that lost their job will find a new one, I hope that everyone sticks with their resolutions, I hope everyone stays healthy, and I hope all of the upcoming events for 2010 go really well.
Upcoming events for 2010:
Baby Milinkovich
Baby Querrey
Baby Stanczak
Baby Wyse
Babies Boemmel
Baby Kosanovic
Baby Tolentino
Baby St. Ledger
Baby Mangiardi
Bob and Natalie's Wedding
Rhianna and Dave's Wedding
Grujo and Natasha's Wedding

Am I missing anyone/anything else? If so, type it in the comments section under this post.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

We finally finished the room today. Yeahhhhhhh! It only took us a month. Well, the reason it took us so long is because we had to finish the trim, which is the worst job ever, paint, and do a mural. It ends up being a lot of tedious work. We also had to find an area rug that would match with the other fabric that was used in the room. I'm sure when the baby comes out, he will appreciate that his mom and dad matched the fabrics correctly. Anyways, it's done and everyone (a.k.a. me) is happy.

There are pictures below, so that you can get an idea of what it looks like. Max and I sit in the room every night, probably because it is fun in there. Our bedroom doesn't have toys, stuffed animals, and murals. By the way, Max drew the cartoon murals on the wall. We looked at some ideas of what we wanted from the Internet, and he free handed them.

We went with the jungle theme, so this is the outlet cover.

This is the wall with the big mural. If you look in the corner of the room, Max drew the palm tree with the monkey and tiger.

This is, obviously, the window area.

The changing station...

This one is my favorite because he is peeking out from the door.
This is a close up of the other mural.
We tried to get an overall shot of the room.

34 Week Appointment

Monday, December 28, 2009 - 34 Weeks

I had my doctor's appointment today, and I gained 5 pounds since last time... Ugh! As of today, I gained a total of 23 pounds. The doctor says that I have managed my weight really well this whole pregnancy, and that I may only gain another 7 - 10 pounds more. I go back in two weeks, and after that, I'll go every week. Next time I go to the doctor's, they will start to check me to see if I'm dialated. She measured the baby, and I am exactly where I should be. That means if I'm 34 weeks, my stomach will measure 34 cm. She thinks the baby will weigh anywhere from 7 to 8 pounds, which is the perfect weight.

It's weird, because when you are pregnant, your brain turns to mush. The baby moves all of the time, especially more now with there being less room. Every time I go to the doctor's office, my heart starts racing to make sure he still has a heartbeat. I never put two and two together like..."Hey stupid! Stop getting nervous! The baby would not be moving without a heartbeat!" Next doctor's appointment, I hope I can remember that!

32 Week Belly

Wednesday, December 16, 2009 - 32 Weeks 2 Days

Well, my belly button is half out and half in. That means the right side is fully out and the left side is still in...so weird. I don't have any stretch marks yet, so hopefully that will remain as is. I did, however, keep my belly ring in, and the doctor said that it was perfectly fine to leave it in as long as it wasn't bothering me. For some reason, I just can't get rid of it. I've had it since I was 18, and I feel if I get rid of it, I will be getting rid of a part of my youth. I know it sounds crazy, because that should be something really easy to get rid of, but I have gone back and forth, and I just can't do it!

At this point, the baby's room is almost done; we just have some fine tuning to do. We will post pictures once it is done.

Samurai in the Snow

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Every year, when the first big snow fall comes, Samurai becomes the happiest dog. We always take pictures of him playing in the snow. When we first let him outside, he starts jumping up and down to catch the snowflakes. Then he continues to prance around the yard. It takes a lot of bribing to get him into the house, because he loves it so much. Max swears that this year he will train him to pull a sled. He did, however, take the dog outside with the harness and attached a log to it to see if he would pull. The dog started freaking out, because he thought the log was chasing him. He did, after several attempts, start to pull the log.

32 Week Ultrasound/Check Up

Monday, December 14, 2009 - 32 Weeks

Today, I had an ultrsound and a regular doctor's appointment. Max and I invited our moms to go to the ultrasound. They were excited to get a sneak preview of the baby. They couldn't believe how technology has evolved, and that you really could see everything. Max had to confirm the sex of the baby with the ultrasound tech. So the ultrasound tech showed Max the testicles, which could not be mistaken. That was followed up with a response from my mother saying, "those are some big cajones." The ultrasound tech also said that his head is already down, and it will probably stay there because it is really low...lower than usual. We asked the doctor if that was okay, and he said that it was good that the head was that low. It is good because when I go into labor, then my labor will go quicker. Lets hope he is right!

I'll post the ultrasound pictures and try to explain what each one is. There are a lot of shadowy spots, so don't look at the picture and think my baby already has a mustache and thick eyebrows, although it is pretty possible with my husband's genetics and family tree.

This is the left profile of the baby. This one you can see pretty clearly.

This is the front of the baby's face. His mouth is open, and it looks like he has a mustache and thick eyebrows.

This is the baby's foot that is constantly kicking me under my right rib. The ultrasound tech gave me a picture, so I can make him feel guilty when he gets older. (Ha, ha)

Christmas A Little Early

Saturday, December 5, 2009

Today, we celebrated a mini Christmas with my immediate family. We started to do this last year, because Rhianna goes to Ohio for Christmas to spend it with Dave's family. We do a grab bag among the siblings plus Max and Dave. We had a lot of fun and ate a lot of food.

30 Week Appointment

Monday, November 30, 2009

Today, I had my 30 week appointment or close to 30 week appointment. I gained two pounds since last time, so I'm at a total of 17 pounds. I have a feeling that I will gain two pounds every two weeks now. It was weird, because this morning, I felt these sharp pains in my lower abdomen. I didn't know if they were braxton hicks, which are contractions you get in the third trimester preparing your uterus for labor and delivery. I told the doctor and she wanted to check to make sure I wasn't dialated. BIG MISTAKE...NEXT TIME I WILL KEEP MY BIG MOUTH SHUT. That definitely was uncomfortable. Anyways, it was nothing. She actually said that everything looks and sounds (his heartbeat) really good. For our next appointment, in two weeks, we will get our last (I think) ultrasound. We can't wait, because we want to see how big he is now. She also said that if I go past my due date, they won't make me go that far past, which was awesome news. She said that they don't usually let their patients go past a week...if that.
I thought this was so cute:

It's Getting Closer; Next Week Will Start 30 Weeks

Saturday, November 28, 2009 - 29 Weeks 3 Days

Well, I'm 29 weeks, and my belly button still hasn't popped out. It is definitely starting to though, because it looks like the shape is changing.

We took these pictures before we were going to dinner at Maggiano's. We got to the restaurant, and the hostess said that there was an hour wait. I wanted to scream: I NEED FOOD PEOPLE! We sat at the bar, and I asked the bartender, "Is there any way we could get some bread?" He asked me if I was famished. I told him, "No, just pregnant." He was so nice, because he ran to the kithchen to get us some bread. I love people like that bartender.

Friday, November 20, 2009

Tonight, we went to Max's former co-workers wedding; it was really beautiful. It was the first wedding I have been to wearing maternity clothes, but I did find a dress. Of course, the dress was black due to the lovely appearance black gives off. It was about 11:30 p.m., and it was time for us to leave. So if anyone knows Max, he loves to be the last one to leave anywhere and needs a good 45 minute prep time to leave. That means that every 5 five minutes I have to say, "okay Max 45 minutes, okay Max 40 minutes, okay Max 35 minutes, okay Max 30 minutes, okay Max 25 minutes, and so on." That will go on until there aren't any minutes left, and he'll be ready to leave. We were about to walk out the door of the wedding, and he stopped before we hit the door and said he had to use the bathroom. So, I told him I will get the car since I was driving. I pulled the car up, and the groom was outside having a cigarette. Max walked out, and the groom said to Max, "you really are Serbian; you had your pregnant wife pull up the car for you."

Wow What a Difference From 25 Weeks!

Monday, November 16, 2009 - 27 Weeks

Today, I had my doctor's appointment. It turns out that I lost a pound after all of the eating I have been doing. I couldn't believe my ears when the nurse said, "It looks like you lost a pound."
I said, "Are you joking with me? No seriously, are you joking with me? Because, I look like a house, and my thighs are touching."
Anyways, the main reason I was there was for my 1 hour glucose test, which tests for diabetes. I had to fast the night before from midnight until I was done giving blood at 9:00 a.m. Let me tell you...that was complete torture, because right now food is the only thing I care about. I may care about food more than I care about Max. No I'm just kidding...or am I?
My thoughts on a typical day:
As I am waking up: "What should I eat? Cereal sounds good"
1 hour later: "Should I have a cereal bar or a banana."
30 minutes after that: "Another cereal bar sounds good."
30 minutes after that: "Is 10:00 a.m. too early for lunch? I think people in other countries eat lunch that early."
1 hour after that: "I can't really count that last one as a lunch because I didn't eat a sandwich; I only had soup, salad, and chips."
Etc: You get the idea :-)
Anyways, it turns out that my glucose levels were good. One less thing to worry about...besides food.

Baby Shower

Thank you again to my mom and Max's mom for throwing a great baby shower.
(If you click on the picture, it will make it bigger)
