Birthdays, Graduations, and Babies Oh My!
Saturday, June 26, 2010
Today, we had a fun packed day. First, we took a ten minute stroll south of Addison to Glen Ellyn. We started out with Mike and Amy's twins' birthday. Happy 4th Birthday Ella and Grace! Luca got to hang out with his future girlfriend, Kaylee, who is Mike and Amy's youngest daughter.

Solved Dilemma
Friday, June 25, 2010
Don't let this innocent face fool you. This is the face of a pooper. Oops wrong pic scroll down.
Yes, there it is. There is that little innocent face. But let me tell you, he is not so innocent. He does poop. Here was my dilemma, and let me stress WAS, because I did solve it on my own, actually I got help from Max. I went to get a massage tonight at 7:00 p.m., so Max had bath, feeding, and bedtime duty. After my massage, I went to pick up a few things, and didn't get home until about 9:30 p.m. Yes, I am aware that is super late. Haha. Anyways, I always go in the baby's room for one last kiss before I go to bed, and I smelled what any mom dreads as their baby is fast asleep. Poop...yes poop! Here WAS my dilemma: Do I wake him up to change him and risk him not going back to bed? or Do I pretend like I never went in there to give him a kiss, and just wait for him to wake up? If you are judging me already by saying, "Oh my God...I can't believe she would just let her baby lie in poop all night or even considered it." Let me tell you...I did consider it for one second, due to his poor sleeping habit, but being the great mother I am, I went right in there, picked him up, and changed his diaper. Guess what? Yes, you got it; he did not want to go back to sleep right away. To make a long story short, he went back to sleep after crying for five long grueling minutes!
Let me explain the picture above Luca's. That is my youngest sister Crystal, aka Poosh, aka Poosh Bowersox, aka Tristies, and I love to torment her. Love ya Pooshie!

Happy Father's Day
Sunday, June 20, 2010
Happy Father's Day to Max (his first), my dad, Max's dad, and Bumps. Also, Happy Father's Day to all the other fathers out there! We had a good day today. We had Max's family and my parents over for a barbeque, and it turned out to be a nice day. We played a few volleyball games in the pool and hung out with some cocktails. Luca was good to his dad, because he bought him a Blackhawks shirt and made a picture with his handprints and footprints. As you can see from the picture below, Luca really loves his dad. Oh, and by the way, that was the first and last time Max will carry him around in the Bjorn. I think he threw his back out lugging around that monster.

5 Months
Monday, June 14, 2010
Today, Luca is five months old, and I know I keep saying this every month, but time really does go by so fast. I am so happy that I have him, because he is such a good baby. He loves to smile and laugh, especially when you tell him he has stinky feet. In these pictures, he is partially naked, because he just got done eating his carrots. I am really bad, because I strip him down when he eats, so that he doesn't stain his clothes. People would probably tell me that I have a Type A personaltiy (By the way I know I do!!!!) So far, we have only tried carrots and squash and he likes both of them. I do, however, make his baby food, so I just add a little extra love, and that's what makes him love them (Blah...I just threw up myself after listening to that). HAHA!

First Cousins Once Removed
Friday, June 11, 2010
My cousin, Anthony, came over today with my aunt, Sandi, and hung out at the pool with Luca and me. Anthony has a lot of fun when he comes over, especially when the pool and Luca are involved. Anyways, last year, when I was pregnant with Luca, he asked me, "Kelly, if we're cousins what will Luca be to me?" So, when you are a teacher, you can't let questions go unanswered. I quickly pulled out the computer to research cousin relationships for both of us. I found out that if your first cousin has a child, then that child is a FIRST COUSIN ONCE REMOVED. You learn something new every day, especially when there is an inquisative young one around.

Can't Forget About The Dog!
Tuesday, June 8, 2010
So, after having a baby, sometimes the dog is forgotten. Well, not in this household. Samurai is the cutest dog, sorry other dog owners, EVER! Again, don't mind my annoying voice!

Alliterative Title: Luca Laughing
Tuesday, June 8, 2010
Luca has been laughing and smiling for quite awhile now, so I actually came around to video taping it; I don't want to lose this memory. Here is a video of me getting Luca to laugh. Please do not mind my voice; I can't stand listening to it played back. Actually, why doesn't everyone go ahead and ignore that part of the video.

What We Can Do Now
Monday, June 7, 2010
Things that have happened to me or that I have done:
Laugh
Smile
Stand and put pressure on my legs (I prefer to do that now all of the time)
Eat rice cereal and baby food
Raise my head and chest while on my tummy
Got my first hair cut
Sit in my bumbo (thanks Mike and Amy)
Play in my exersaucer (thanks Danny and Marta)
Cry for my mom
Eat out of my level 2 nipple
Grab at my toys
Look at myself in the mirror and smile
Sit in my high chair (only when it leans back like my bouncer)
Talk all of the time Don't mind the pj's...I know that they are Halloween ones, but if I didn't put them on him now, they won't fit him come Halloween.
