November 7, 2009 - 26 Weeks 3 Days
A week ago today, I started to have sciatic nerve pain in the left half part of my body. Oh my God, does it really knock you down. I have been having an awesome pregnancy, so this is a minor set back. I get out of bed, and my knees buckle because I'm in so much pain. It is more in my butt, which numbs my left left and left foot. Ugh!
It was funny because I was subbing at Schaumburg High School on Wednesday, and I was passing out tests. I must have turned awkwardly, and I felt this surge of pain. I screamed without even realizing I was going to do it, and some of the kids were like, "Um...are you okay?" I told them that I was fine, and I had back pain.
After that little situation with subbing, I decided to call the doctor's office. They told me to come in, because they can't diagnose me over the phone. I went in the next day, Thursday. When the doctor came in the room, he asked me what was going on. I explained everything to him, and he told me it was definitely my sciatic nerve.
Doctor: "Now that we know what it is, guess what we can do for you?" he asked happily.
Me: "Oh my God! What?" I asked excitedly.
Doctor: "Absolutely nothing!" he said as the dagger went through my heart.
Me: "Well, do you think that you can move the baby, so he is not lying on the nerve?" I asked.
Doctor: "Um, no I can't," he replied.
I had to at least ask......
