Out Numbered

Friday, January 22, 2010

I'm definitley the only female in the house now. Before, it was just Max and the dog, and now there are three of them. I think that they are forming a man-pact. Max likes to play the guitar, and the dog usually lies under his feet. Now, he has the baby, the dog , and himself. He's got a little fan club now.

My First Bath At Home

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

So, we figured out that Luca does not like baths. Max has to give him a bath right now, because I can't lean over the tub just yet. I think that Max got a little bit nervous when the baby started screaming, so he kind of rushed through the bath. I also think he was annoyed with me since I was laughing and taking pictures. Oh well, you only get the firsts once, so I have to be a little aggressive with the camera.

Luca Damjan Milinkovich

Thursday, January 14, 2010

We had a little unexpected arrival today. Our little Luca decided that he didn't want to be in my stomach anymore, so he made his grand entrance at about 11:34 a.m. via c-section. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was considered pre term. It is unusual that a 7 pound 10 ounce baby can be considered premature, but he was. I can't imagine if I went full term, then he would have been about 9 lbs...yikes! Anyways, Max and I couldn't be happier that he is here. We feel like we waited forever for him to come, and now he's here.

Breech Baby...What?

Monday, January 11, 2010

Today, I had my 36 week check-up. I go every week now to see if I am dialated. Well, first of all, I gained another two pounds in two weeks, which is right on target. Now, I should be gaining a pound a week. The doctor checked to see if I was dialated, and I am 1 cm dialated, which is good news. The bad news is...the baby flipped and is in breech position. He is actually vertical in my stomach. As of now, I have to have a c-section unless he flips again. The doctor said the chance of him flipping in to head down position this late in my pregnancy is highly unlikely. I read in the book What to Expect When You're Expecting that there are various exercises you could do to move the baby. I definitely will try them, but I think, though, that he has no more room left, and it still might be a long shot.
