Little Fish

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Luca loves going swimming, let me correct myself. Luca loves going simmies in the pool. On several occasions, he has taken it upon himself to just jump in the pool. NOT GOOD! Of course, either Max or myself are there when he does it, but still, this kid has no fear. He likes to hold on to the side of the pool and kick his legs or he just hangs out on the stairs. He WILL NOT go in a raft.

17 Months But Lookin Like A 3 Year Old

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Luca is growing like a weed. He has definitely graduated to 24 month clothing. Hopefully, he will stay that way for a while. I totally and completely love this age. He is so much fun to be around. His personality is developing more and more every day. He is starting to put words together, and he is identifying more things. This month, he started obsessing over cars. I think we have every car possible that there was to buy. I also think that is his favorite word...caw caw caw (car car car).

Tuckered Out

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Wednesday, June 1 through Saturday June 4, 2011

We took a trip to Fort Myers and Marco Island for three nights. Max had to work, so Luca and I were able to come along with him. The plane ride there and back was a challenge (I'm being nice with the word challenge). Luca does not like to sit still, so sitting on our laps for 2 1/2 hours was out of the question. We roamed the plane, took trips to the bathroom, and finally got to sleep in the flight attendent's seat. Thank God she had two little girls Luca's age, because she understood what I was going through. The guy in front of us, however, was not so understanding.

I do have to say that once we got there, it was a hundred times better. While Max worked, Luca and I toured Fort Myers. We went shopping, out to eat, and we even went to the Imaginarium. They had different exotic animals (or critters is what they call it). Luca got to pet a baby alligator. From Fort Myers, we then drove through Naples, and then to Marco Island. Marco Island is one of my favorite places. It is beautiful there. The ocean is clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing. We stayed at the Marriott, which was awesome, especially for Luca. They have a zero depth pool, where he played the entire day. When it was time to get out of the pool, he through a major temper tantrum. Oh well! At least he had fun!

Godparents (Kumovi)

Sunday, May 16, 2011

Today, we became Godparents (Kumovi) to Maja Kosanovic. It was such a great day. The christening was at Holy Ressurection in Chicago, where Max and I got married. Maja was cute. She cried a little, but that's because Max held her, and he is kind of scary! Ha ha! As soon as I get some pictures of Maja, I will post them.

I Am Getting Very Sleepy...16 Months

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Today, Luca is 16 months. This age is so much fun, because he is learning to talk, so everything that comes out of his mouth is so funny. He can say tons of new words even right after he learns them. He does, however, throw major temper tantrums, so Max and I are learning new strategies to deflect them. For the most part, he is a really good baby. He is just strong-willed (like his mommy and daddy). HAHA!

Mr. Easter Bunny

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Sorry I haven't updated my blog in a while, but we have been so busy the past couple months. I will try to play catch up with the pictures and videos.

We went to Woodfield Mall to visit the Easter Bunny. I was really afraid that Luca was going to be scared of him, but instead he had a lot of fun, as you can see by the smile on his face. We were trying to get him to look at the camera, but he kept on poking the Easter Bunny's teeth. Now, come to think of it, we should have gotten a picture of him messing with the teeth. It would have been a funnier memory.

15 Months of Pure Bliss

Tuesday, April 12, 2011 Luca is two days shy of turning 15 months, but he had his doctor's appointment, and he is still a ginormous baby. He is weighing in at a whopping 28 pounds 11 ounces, which puts him in the 90th percentile for weight. He is 2 feet 11 inches and off the charts for height. His head, contrary to popular belief, is only in the 50th percentile. His vocabulary is strengthening every day with new words. He is starting to put two words together like no no, uh oh, bye bye, not nice, etc... I do have to say that he is definitley a big snuggler. Sometimes, when I am sitting on the floor with him, he will run up and hug me for a minute, actually it's probably really only 10 seconds that he does that. Temper tantrums have become more frequent, but we are ingnoring them to the best of our ability. Since the weather has been nice, he has been enjoying playing outside, which is where some of the tantrums stem from. Luca does not like to come inside!

Bahama Mama

Thursday, April 7, 2011 to Monday, April 11, 2011 Max won a trip to the Bahamas from his work, so I am happy to add Bahamas to my list of places I have gone. We stayed at the Atlantis Hotel, and it was amazing. We did not bring Luca, but next time we go there, we are definitely bringing him. There is so much for kids to do at the Atlantis. There is one downside to going there, and that is that there are no direct flights from chicago. And when you are not one who likes to fly it could cause some temporary anxiety. Not only did I have anxiety from flying, but Max also had anxiety just from being next to me on the airplane. I have a funny story, or at least I think it's funny. If you look at the last picture on this post, you will see a somewhat blurred picture of Pauly D from The Jersey Shore. Yes, that is him. Our last night's dinner we ate a Casa d'angelo, and next to us eating was Pauly D. A couple of the woman went up to him and asked him for a picture, which he denied. I was determined to get a picture for my friends. Do you like how I said for my friends? Alright, it was for me. Next to me was a flowering bush that was a decor in the restaurant. I planned to use that bush to conceal my inevitable determination to get a picture. I pushed the branches in the middle of the bush aside and hid there until I got a good view of Pauly D. I was so proud of myself at the time, and now that I look at that picture, it's not that great. I wish I had one of his face.
