I've been bad lately. Luca is getting so big and not wanting to snuggle, so for his nap, I rocked him. Then I had him sleep next to me while I watched him sleep. Creepy right? I'm just getting a little sad that he's getting older, so I'm trying to suck it all up now before he doesn't want me to rock, kiss, hug, or snuggle with him.

So, up until now, I have been good about taking Luca's picture on the exact day each month, which is his birthday day. But of course, the month before his first birthday, I am two days late. No big deal right. Wrong. I am a little OCD, and this will bother me for a long time. So, my little bambino is 11 months, and I have one question: Is he not going to be considered an infant once he turns 1 years old? It is sad to think that this whole year went by like a snapshot. At 11 months, he can almost stand on his own, although he gets scared and squats rather quickly. He is also talking a lot. Ninety-nine percent of it we can't understand, but there is that one percent we can. He can say ball or baw, hi or ha, tata (dad in Serbian) or tita, and dada. Let the countdown begin.

Today, Luca got his first haircut. Max and I weren't keen on getting his haircut, but everyone we encountered told us that he needed his haircut. So we faced the inevitable and cut his hair. We did get rid of the mud flaps hanging over his ears. I wanted my friend Ann to give him a fohawk, but his hair need to get longer in the back. We can make a fohawk on the top of his head though. For having such a crabby day, I was proud to say he was really good while getting his hair cut. Maybe it had something to do with me lying on the ground doing a puppet show with him.

This is Samurai's comfort zone. He loves the snow and the cold weather; however, during this time he becomes a bad listener. He doesn't want to come inside at all, so when I am running late for something, which is typical, getting him inside becomes a twenty minute plea along with bribes.

Today, we went to Elgin Country Club with Amanda, Nick, Sophia, Dan, Nicole, and Molly. We got to stuff a bear, have brunch, and sit on Santa's lap. Most of the kids were scared of Santa, but Luca was indifferent. He's not old enough to be scared of anything yet, so next year there may be no pictures of him sitting on Santa's lap. I love doing these things with my family even if Luca isn't old enough to know what's going on. He did, however, like the stuffing that was suppose to go into the bear and Santa's beard. Thanks Amanda and Nick for inviting us!

Luca had his first Thanksgiving, and he loved the turkey, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Max and I are really thankful that we have our little Luca!

Today we celebrated the twins' birthday. It was at Safari Land, and as you can see from the pictures below, I think that the adults had more fun than the kids. I was only able to get pictures of Niko, because someone else was holding Luka.

You know, today, I had to treat my husband like a little kid, because he did not want to leave right away. So I started off by saying, "okay Max, we are leaving in twenty minutes." Five minutes later: "okay, Max we are leaving in fifteen minutes." "Okay, we are leaving in ten minutes." " Okay eight." "Okay five." Okay three more minutes." Okay sixty seconds."

Today, Luca is ten months old. Yay! He is officially crawling and saying Mama, Dada, and some other baby gibberish. He can now drink from a sippy cup. And, on occasion, he will stand for a short period of time. Luca had his first cold this month, and it was miserable for everyone involved. Even though he is ten months, he is wearing 12 - 18 month clothing.

Today, we went to the Bears' game. Scratch that statement...we went to go watch the Bears' game at Buffalo Wild Wings. Isn't that the same thing? Sorry, I'm just a little bitter, because I haven't been to a Bears' game yet. Booooooooo!
