Today we celebrated Luca's 1st birthday at Charlies in Elmhurst. We made it a football themed party just in case the Bears went to the playoffs. And guess what...they did. They also won the day of his party, so it was a great day for everyone! Happy Birthday Peanut!

Dear Luca,

You are one year old today. Happy Birthday to the best gift in the world. You have been growing so fast. Just when we get used to you doing one thing, you go ahead and do another. We, mama and tata, do miss that little itty bitty infant, but just when you think you can't love someone any more than you do now, the next day comes, and it surpasses the day before. You are the sweetest little boy in the world. Happy Birthday!

Last Day of Babyhood :-(

So this is the last day of babyhood for Luca. It is definitely definitely DEFINITELY bitter sweet. I didn't think that it would be so hard for me for him to turn one. I feel worse that he is turning one than I did when I turned thirty. I don't know what it is. It may be that the year has just flown by for me, and in the blink of an eye, he was just one. I do stay home with him every day, and I try to suck up every moment, but when I look back, it was kind of a blur. It was probably due to the lack of sleep :-) Anyways, I am glad I get to see him getting bigger and learning new things.

Today is Luca's 1st Slava, which is a Saint's Day. Luca has a mustache, because my father-in-law has one, and he wanted me to put one on Luca, so they can look alike for this special day.
