Today, I had my doctor's appointment. I have to see my doctor every two weeks for the first trimester due to issues in the beginning with my hormone levels. The good thing about that is I get an ultrasound every two weeks, so I am not left in the dark for months at a time. I told Max to stay home because it probably won't be anything big. I was wrong! When the screen popped up, the doctor immediately saw the heartbeat. She told me to sit up a little, and when I did, I couldn't see anything. (I felt like the episode of Friends when Rachel couldn't see the baby on the ultrasound picture.) Anyways, because I sat up, I moved the position of my uterus. I waited like ten seconds, and I finally saw the heartbeat. CRAZY!

What is that fluttering on the screen?

Am I showing already? No way; it's too early. That's just fat!
June 12, 2009 - 5 weeks
So Max decided to make me coffee a couple days ago. I like to drink my coffee in bed, especially since I am off during the summer. He brought my coffee upstairs, and of course I thanked him, because that was so nice of him to offer to make me coffee. I thought to myself, "this whole pregnancy thing is going to be awesome."
I took a sip of my coffee, and spit it back into the cup. Now, I know that Max knows how to make coffee, because he makes it occasionally. I asked him if he added too much water this time. He replied, "since you're pregnant I think it is time for you limit the amount of scoops you use."
Me: So how many scoops did you put in and how much water?
Max: Two tablespoons of coffee and six cups of water.
Needless to say, I stopped drinking coffee. I don't want to stress anyone out!

"This is how you're telling me?"
I couldn't sleep the night before I found out I was pregnant because I had thought I was getting sick...oh, and I had horrible lower back cramps. The cramping continued into the late morning. Well, at this time, I was on a business trip with Max in Springfield, and we stayed at the Marriott which has a Walmart right across the street. I decided to walk over there to see if I can find a pair of shorts, because I was wearing jeans, and it was 90 degrees out that day. I walked aimlessly around the store, found a pair of shorts, tried them on, and put them back. After that I walked around a bit...I was bored. I came to the family planning section and thought to myself, "what the hell."
I selected the Clearblue Easy Pregnancy Test, and let me hence the EASY part, because I just needed a 'yes' or 'no' answer. I don't like fighting with lines!
I walked back to the hotel nervously, peed on the stick, waited three minutes, looked, and said, "Holy S***!"
I called Max and told him. He replied by saying, "this is how you're telling me...over the phone?"
